Our Definition of Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a relaxed, focused state of concentration. It is a specific state that the brain enters into when it is receptive to suggestions. Change can be initiated easily to allow the client to let go of unwanted behaviours and achieve their desired goals effortlessly.

Does Hypnosis really work?

Hypnosis is about following instructions. It is acknowledged nowadays that all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. When the hypnotist says: “Close your eyes”, who is closing the eyes? The client. If the hypnotist asks: “Relax your body”, who is relaxing the body? The client.

The ability to make drastic changes through hypnosis has been documented by doctors, dentists and many other leading health professionals. It was approved as a legitimate medical and dental treatment method by the American Medical Association in 1958.

Will I embarrass myself during Hypnosis?

As said, hypnosis is about following instructions. The hypnotist will not be able to influence you to do things that you won’t do in your “real or normal life”. Those that go on stage during a stage show and do funny things are also those that do funny things in their normal life, or dance on the table after a couple of drinks.

Is Hypnosis Dangerous?

Many people believe that hypnosis is dangerous. They might wonder if they reveal secrets that should stay hidden. Or, that they won’t wake up from hypnosis.

Actually, hypnosis is not dangerous. There is no one that has died from being hypnotised. Most people that go into a trance state awake refresh and alert. Hypnosis has been described as healthy.

Just compare two different states: If hypnosis is a relaxed state of mind, and the opposite is a stressed state of mind, which one is healthier?

Is Hypnosis mind-control?

No, it is not. You will always have total control during the session. It is possible that during a hypnotic session, you wake up every now and then and this is okay.

It is not possible to implant false memories or destructive suggestions into your mind. You will not do or actualise after a session, what you would not do before, if it is against your values and your morals.

What can I expect during a hypnotic session?

Most probably, you will feel like you fall asleep, even so hypnosis is not sleep. Most probably, you will feel very relaxed. Changes initiated will occur faster or slower, but they will occur.

In the video below, which was filmed during our Intensive Hypnosis Training, the person that I am working with actualised deep trance phenomena.

Imagine, if the client can produce such effect, what other changes are possible for the client, in his life? It shows that there is a direct reaction of the unconscious mind to the suggestion to stiffen up the body. And yes, this was done during the part of the training when you learn to create a “Stage Show”.
